The city supervisor of a small northern Maine neighborhood is underneath hearth for selling white separatist views and making feedback essential of Islam, it was reported Saturday.
Jackman City supervisor Thomas Kawczynksi, 37, says he’s the chief of New Albion, a racial segregationist motion that desires to protect the white majority of northern New England and Atlantic Canada.
“I’m not a white supremacist. I’m not a racist,” Kawczynski instructed the Portland Press Herald. “What will get me in bother typically is I’m a white one that is just not ashamed to be white.”
He instructed the paper he opposed Islam as a result of it was “not suitable with Western tradition.”
The paper interviewed the pastor of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Portland who mentioned that what Kawczynski was doing was terrible.
“He’s going towards every part that’s American and what we stand for,” the Rev. Christinia Sillari mentioned. “He must be stopped.”
“Wow,” American Civil Liberties Union of Maine authorized director Zachary Heiden mentioned in The Bangor Every day Information, calling Kawczynski’s views “shockingly racist.”
The Bangor Every day Information reported Friday that Kawczynski steadily shared his political beliefs on the far-right web site GAB and his private Fb web page.
The paper quoted Kawczynski as calling Islam “the scourge of Western civilization.”
Kawczynski instructed the paper he would not run Jackman city affairs in a means that discriminates towards anybody. The city, close to the Canadian border, has 860 residents.
In 2016, he served as city chair for Donald Trump’s presidential marketing campaign in a city in New Hampshire, the paper reported.
Two members of the Jackman Board of Selectmen instructed Maine Public Radio they have been unaware of Kawczynksi’s viewpoints.
