A pensioner was eliminated after being struck by a roaming 22 pound hammer tossed in competitors as he strolled past the occasion.
The things ‘flew over’ a hedge and struck the guy at the Open Highland video games at Geldrop Castle, in southeastern Netherlands.
The unnamed guy, from Geldrop, was dealt with by paramedics on the scene however his injuries were too serious and he passed away, regional media Omroep Brabant reported.
Police stated he passed away when a ‘metal ball in use at a sporting event’ arrived on him, with reports including somehting had actually gone ‘wrong during the hammer throw’.
A witness stated: ‘The pendulum gave way, we saw the ball go over the hedge and then we heard a woman screaming very loudly.’

Adri Geerts, chairman of competitors organisers Foundation Village Marketing Geldrop-Mierlo, stated they were all ‘devastated’.
