A California man house-sitting for his mother and father ended up setting their dwelling on hearth whereas making an attempt to kill spiders with a blowtorch.

Practically 30 firefighters responded to a home hearth in Fresno on Tuesday night.

The person informed first responders he had seen many black widow spiders on the façade of the house and tried to exterminate the creepy-crawlies with a blowtorch, ABC30 Information reported.

Fireplace officers imagine the blowtorch ignited flammable materials on the constructing’s exterior, sending the house up in flames.

“That is undoubtedly not the popular technique to exterminate spiders in and round your house,” Fresno Fireplace Division Capt. Robert Castillo stated.

Officers estimate the blaze prompted about $10,000 in harm.

“Please don’t use a blowtorch to kill spiders,” the fireplace division tweeted.

It’s unclear if the spiders survived the torching.
