A male who got a first-of-its-kind heart transplant from a genetically customized pig passed away Tuesday, 2 months after the groundbreaking treatment.
Doctors the University of Maryland Medical Center stated on Wednesday that David Bennett, 57, passed away the day in the past, after his “condition began deteriorating several days ago.”

The Food and Drug Administration provided emergency situation permission on New Year’s Eve for Bennett to get a genetically customized pig heart, the health center stated. The surgical treatment was finished onJan 7.
