Romelu Lukaku reportedly ‘threw a bottle’ at Mikel Arteta leaving him bleeding from the face during Old Trafford clash
MANCHESTER UNITED and Manchester City have been asked by the Football Association for their observations regarding Sunday’s dressing room bust-up.
Romelu Lukaku reportedly “threw a bottle” at City coach Mikel Arteta leaving him bleeding from the face during the Old Trafford tunnel clash.
Earlier, City had just beaten their great rivals 2-1 at Old Trafford when it all kicked off… with the FA now demanding answers and potentially even CCTV footage.
Arteta had “blood pouring down his face” and left the stadium with “a wound on his forehead”, according to reports.
Spanish radio station Cedenaser claim the injury was a result of being hit by a bottle thrown by Belgian star Lukaku.
There is no indication the Man City coach was intentionally targeted in the incident – which involved 15 people, according to one eye-witness.
There are even claims that milk, water and a bottle were thrown at Jose Mourinho at the height of the ruck.
A United source told SunSport that manager Mourinho was angry with City’s stars for their over-the-top celebrations, demanding they “show more respect”.

Police officers were understood to be standing in the tunnel area although are not thought to have been involved.
Mourinho is said to have accused City keeper Ederson of lacking “respect” as the angry words escalated into a bout of pushing and shoving.
One eye witness told SunSport: “People couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
“It was going crazy for a few seconds, with loads of screaming and shouting.
“It looked like it might get completely out of control.”
Both Manchester clubs are now expected to respond to the FA with their take on the incident.
