Mourinho arrives in chauffeur-driven car and Mkhitaryan in Ferrari after beating Basel
JOSE MOURINHO and his Manchester United squad arrived at training on Thursday morning – looking glum.
Despite the players arriving in a fleet of big-money supercars, none of the playing staff or Mourinho looked at all happy.
United beat Swiss champions Basel in their Champions League opener on Tuesday night, but the Special One was not happy with his side’s performance.
Rather than killing off their opponents at Old Trafford, Mourinho said his team played “PlayStation football”, looking to show off rather than score.
United record goalscorer Wayne Rooney returns to Manchester on Sunday, with his Everton visiting without a win since the opening day.
Mourinho arrived at Carrington, being driven by his chauffeur in his £100,000 top of the range Jaguar XJ.
The Portuguese has a sponsorship deal with the British luxury car brand.
Also arriving was Spanish No 1 David De Gea – who, as SunSport reported today, has dropped a massive hint that he intends to stay at the club long-term after moving into a plush new pad.

De Gea arrived in his Mercedes GLE and Phil Jones in a custom Bentley Continental GT.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has been a regular starter after falling foul of Mourinho last season, arrived in his bright red £200,000 Ferrari GTC4Lusso.
First-team stars Michael Carrick and Daley Blind were also pictured entering Carrington, as were a number of youth team players.
Scott McTominay, Demetri Mitchell and Axel Tuanzebe were all seen driving Mercedes and Audis.
Tuanzebe and McTominay were joined on the Champions League ‘B’ squad by fellow youngsters Mitchell and Kieran O’Hara.
Players on the ‘B’ list can be played at any time and do not count towards the 25-man squad list – England star Marcus Rashford also counts as a ‘B’ list player.
Mourinho will also have been weighing up replacements for Paul Pogba at today’s training session.
The French star will miss four weeks of action after picking up a hamstring injury in the win against Basel.
He has been pictured on crutches this week.
