Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV’s Matt Chapman runs you through a busy Saturday
AFTER a busy week at Chester, the ITV cameras are all over the place today and I’m at Ascot so let’s start there in our winner-finding quest.
The 2.15pm is a 1m4f handicap, and I’ll have a few quid each-way on APPEARED, who looked good at York last season before flopping at York again and then only a fair third at Newmarket.

However, he’s just the type to improve again at five and Roger Varian’s stable is in fair form.
The 2.50pm is a neat 1m4f Listed contest, and WILD HACKED is looking most progressive now after a fine win at Haydock last time.
He stays strong and is improving fast for Marco Botti so should be hard to keep out the frame.
Next at Ascot is a 1m handicap at 3.25pm, and I’ll back ARISTOCRATIC in this for Sir Michael Stoute. On the face of it she isn’t getting better and is hard to win with, but I think a little step up in distance might help her travel more easily for Andrea Atzeni.
Much more tricky is the Victoria Cup, the big betting race of the day at 4.00pm over 7f. Hard to know what will happen with the draw, but I’m backing BOSSY GUEST each-way.

He’s a right character and could refuse to race, but he ran really well in the Spring Cup at Newbury and this distance is ideal. If he’s getting to grips with life for Mick Channon he can go well.
He’s in stall 24 so pray for high numbers.
ITV is also at Haydock for the 3.10pm, which is the Swinton Handicap Hurdle over nearly 2m.
Matt Chapman’s TV Tips
1.55 Lingfield – Pocketfullofdreams
2.15 Ascot – Appeared
2.30 Lingfield – Sir John Lavery
2.50 Ascot – Wild Hacked
3.10 Haydock – Zubayr
3.25 Ascot – Aristocratic
3.40 Lingfield – Qemah
4.00 Ascot – Bossy Guest
ZUBAYR is up 4lb for his narrow defeat in the Scottish Champion Hurdle, but he loves the conditions and is another each-way hope for former champion jumps trainer Paul Nicholls and Sam Twiston-Davies.
And ITV also show racing at Lingfield, including the Listed Oaks Trial at 1.55pm over nearly 1m4f.
None of these look stars, but Aidan O’Brien has a good line on form, so I’ll hope POCKETFULLOFDREAMS in the hood for Ryan Moore sees off likely favourite The Sky is Blazing who looks promising.
The Listed Derby trial over the same sort of distance comes up at 2.30pm. Again it’s O’Brien for me here, with Moore on board SIR JOHN LAVERY. He’s not run for over 200 days, but impressed when last seen in a Gowran maiden.
Finally ITV bang in the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes at 3.40pm, and the one I like here is the very useful French raider QEMAH. She’s rated 115 with Frankie Dettori up and could be in a different league. Lump on.
So best of luck again. I’m hoping for Yeeehaas – You Betcha!
