Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV’s Matt Chapman runs you through a busy Saturday
IN many ways Saturday is the calm before the York storm, but don’t let that put you off trying to win a few quid this afternoon off my ‘friends’ at Sunbets!
I will be at Newbury for ITV racing, so let’s start there with the 1.50pm, the Listed Washington Singer over 7f for 2yo.
The one to back here is The Queen’s improving LEARN BY HEART, who looked good at Doncaster last time in similar conditions.
He was still green that day and is open to loads of improvement for William Haggas.
It’s the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer over an extended 1m5f at 2.25pm, and stamina will be key.
I will back TO ETERNITY each-way for Fran Berry and Johnny ‘G’ Gosden. The selection will have no problem with the trip and goes on any ground. Looks overpriced.

Next up at Newbury is a handicap over 7f at 3.00pm, and I will have a few quid each-way here on NOBLE PEACE, who has been in great form recently for Henry Candy.
He loved a bit of juice when second at Goodwood earlier this month and can build on that. This trip is ideal.
Finally at Newbury it’s the Group 2 Hungerford over 7f at 3.35pm, and the one who looks decent odds here is KASPERSKY, who might outstay a few of these in the conditions.

Jane Chapple-Hyam trains my selection who ran well at Ascot last time.
The ITV cameras are also at Newmarket, and the 2.10pm is a handicap over 6f. Tough heat, but maybe SYRIAN PEARL can run well for Chris Wall.
Rated up to 87 recently he’s down to 79 now and this might be when he bounces back to form.
There’s another handicap over 6f at 2.45pm, and I like TOMMY TAYLOR in this for Kevin Ryan.
Although 13th of 14 last time he was beaten less than seven lengths and ran really well at this track the time before. A few quid each-way.
And ITV also show the big betting racing from Ripon, the Great St Wilfrid Handicap at 3.15pm.
Obviously you need a bit of luck, but ROBERO could go close here for Mick Easterby. He’s up in the weights now, but still ran a fine race off the new mark last time.
Big worry is the draw. But fingers crossed.
So best of luck for a good Saturday of punting and a few Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
