NO less than 10 races on the main ITV channel this afternoon so by the end of play we will either have done our conkers or be swimming in cash!

Let’s get straight to it, and the feature meeting is at Newmarket.

The 2.50pm is a 1m handicap, and MOUNTAIN ANGEL will be hard to keep out the frame once again for the in form Roger Varian.

Have a few quid on each-way after a fine second to reopposing Afaak at Doncaster.

The 3.25pm at Newmarket is the Bunbury Cup over 7f. Some quality performers in here and maybe this will be the day talented DONNCHA bangs back to form.

A strong pace at this trip will suit my frustrating selection who has only recently dropped to a handicap mark below 100.

Caravaggio is my pick in the Darley July Cup

It’s the Group 2 Superlative at 4.00pm, and this looks a good opportunity for the in form Aidan O’Brien team to strike with GUSTAV KLIMT.

He looked really useful in a 7f maiden at the Curragh.

The big sprint is the Group 1 July Cup at 4.35pm over 6f, with all eyes on the unbeaten three-year-old CARAVAGGIO.

He was brilliant in a fast time at Royal Ascot and in a small field his running style won’t be a problem. It’s a cracking race.

The O’Brien horse should be too good getting 6lb from the older animals.

Over at Ascot ITV show the 5f handicap at 2.10pm. I thought ORION’S BOW was unlucky at Newcastle last time when he travelled well but the gaps didn’t come at the right time.

He’s high in the weights back on turf, but he’s in great shape and going well for Tim Easterby.

The Group 2 Summer Mile  is at 3.50pm, and William Haggas saddles my Nap of the day in the shape of defending champion MUTAKAYYEF.

This is a drop in grade for the Queen Anne runner-up and he should just be far too good for this lot.

Now for York, and ITV is there for the 1.55pm, a near 1m handicap.

This is just the type of event that ONE WORD MORE runs well in for Easterby once again and he’s not a badly handicapped horse now off 93. The draw is fine as well.

It’s the Listed Silver Cup at York at 2.30pm, and I want to be with BARSANTI, who with a rating of 116 should win well. The Hardwicke runner-up should be far too good for Roger Varian.

The big handicap at York is the John Smith’s Cup at 3.05pm, and after a good run at Ascot last time maybe a few quid each-way on MAJEED for Dave Simcock.

He’s well handicapped and stays the trip strong when on a going day.

Finally it’s the Listed City of Walls over 5f at York at 4.15pm, and TAKE COVER might still have enough ability to do well for David Griffiths. He didn’t run badly at all when fifth last time.

So best of luck and here’s hoping for a winner or 10. Yeeehaaa! You Betcha!
