Initially, the brand will offer 22 styles, including many dresses that are perfect for spring racing.

After the success of last year’s #myhabbot build-your-own shoe promotion, Melbourne-based habbot has expanded the program to four styles, that will be available to customise all year round.

Customers can go into the store, or online, and design their own shoe from 24 different colours and textures. The design is sent off to habbot’s workshop in Italy, and will be on your tootsies within a month, holidays notwithstanding.

Here at The Sale Whisperer, we love fashion for a good cause, and what better initiative than Australian designers teaming up with social enterprise to help refugees and new migrants.

In its third year, The Social Outfit has partnered with Australia’s stars of maximalism, Romance Was Born, to create pieces featuring artwork by the legendary designer and artist Linda Jackson. The garments include silk scarves, T-shirt dresses and a jumpsuit.

Romance Was Born designers Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett said the initiative gives them a deep connection to community work they are passionate about.

“Making an imprint to our cultural landscape is something we feel very passionately about. We are very inspired by The Social Outfit’s ethics, and we hope that more creative and corporate businesses will become involved with them also so they can continue to grow and make a difference,” the pair said.

CEO and founder of The Social Outfit, Jackie Ruddock, said the organisation was drawn to the duo’s “joy, colour and gorgeous designs”.

Having obsessively pored over every street style image at New York fashion week, there were several trends that stood out. One I can totally get on board with is the humble polka dot, which was everywhere: on Balenciaga’s “knife” shoes, which say to me that toe cleavage is firmly on the “not” list for summer; on floaty dresses teamed with denim jackets and sneakers; and on the Net-a-Porter buying team, who travelled in a pack and often dressed in theme. Next stop, London.
