The ’80 s icon, who turned 54 onFeb 18, just recently shared an Instagram post of a text discussion exposing that her own mom forgot her birthday– which is basically precisely what occurred to Molly’s 16- year-old character Samantha Baker in the 1984 movie Sixteen Candles
Molly texted her mommy, “That’s it? You don’t have anything else to say to me today?” prior to she reacted, “I didn’t realize it was the 18th today. Happy birthday! I haven’t got your present in the mail. Will do very soon.”
Noting the similarity to the plot of Sixteen Candles, the starlet responded, “Life imitates art,” while her mom reacted, “How true. It took me a few more years to forget.”
Though Molly’s mommy didn’t get the memo, the starlet was flooded with birthday love from numerous individuals, consisting of author Amanda Montell, who composed, “Ooooh a fellow February baby. Have the most splendid day, Molly.”
