  • A five-course brunch including a seafood spread with escargot: USD$95 (approx RM392)
  • A hotel reservation in Hong Kong: USD$900 (approx RM3,721)
  • Three bottles of wine: USD$108 (approx RM446) 
  • A 90-minute massage that she goes for at least once a week: USD$87.92 (approx RM363)

She claimed to have spent a total of USD$1,508.43 (approx RM6,236) in that entire week. Walao!

The article, which was just published over the weekend (27th April), began to circulate among Malaysian social media users, many of whom could not fathom the amount of money she earned on top of what she spent on.

Many pointed out that her income and lifestyle were in no way a reflection of what the average Malaysian experiences. Some also added that expatriates are often offered more money than locals for them to sustain their lifestyles, even when it’s for the same job.
