A transformer explosion in Queens, New York, allegedly turned town’s sky a neon blue Thursday night time, leaving many onlookers baffled.

Social media was ablaze with footage of the sky, which flickered and was so vivid it gave the impression to be day.

The New York Police Division quickly supplied a proof for the color, saying in a tweet that “the lights you’ve gotten seen all through town seem to have been from a transformer explosion at Con Ed facility in Queens.”

“The incident is beneath management. There are not any accidents reported, and no hearth,” the New York Metropolis Fireplace Division tweeted.

LaGuardia Airport misplaced energy and air visitors was suspended on account of the explosion. Energy has since been restored and the airport has resumed regular operations.

Individuals took to social media to put up footage of the eerily colored sky.
