British scientists have found a brand new species of stegosaurus that is believed to be the oldest of its form ever discovered.

The stays of the armored dinosaur, which had distinctive plate-shaped bones protruding from its backbone, had been investigated by a bunch from the British Pure Historical past Museum.

“Most recognized stegosaurs date from far later within the Jurassic interval, making this the oldest particular stegosaur described and serving to to extend our understanding of the evolution of this group of dinosaurs,” Susannah Maidment, who led the staff, mentioned in a press assertion.
