A recording has surfaced of a New Jersey county sheriff making disparaging feedback about blacks and the state’s first Sikh lawyer common and Gov. Phil Murphy is asking on the official to resign.
WNYC radio obtained the tape from an individual who was current. It was recorded on the day of Murphy’s inauguration in January.

On it, Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino is heard saying Lawyer Common Gurbir Grewal was appointed due to “the turban.”
He additionally mentioned Murphy’s insurance policies would permit blacks to “are available, do regardless of the (expletive) they need, smoke their marijuana, do that try this.”

In a press release, Murphy known as the feedback “appalling” and mentioned if the voice on the recording is Saudino’s, he ought to resign.
A spokesman for Saudino didn’t instantly return messages looking for remark.
