Polish track and field Olympian Maria Andrejczyk is paying it forward to an infant kid fighting a heart disease.

Andrejczyk, who was identified with bone cancer in 2018, went back to the world phase and made the javelin toss silver medal at the 2020 TokyoOlympics OnAug 11, she revealed on Facebook she was auctioning off her treasured medal with the objective of raising about $180,000 to assist Miloszek Ma Å‚ysa, an 8-month-old Polish kid, fly to the United States and get surgical treatment for a heart flaw.

“Mi Å‚oszek, like our Anto Å›, has a severe heart flaw [and] he requires an operation,” she composed in her native language, discussing that the surgical treatment costs about $390,000 overall. Andrejczyk, 25, stated his household currently has funds from another client Kubu Å›, “a boy who did not make it on time, but wonderful people decided to donate his funds,” she stated.

The professional athlete continued, “This is how I want to help too… I am auctioning off my Olympic silver medal. Together with MiÅ‚osz’s mother and my manager, we were thinking about the most efficient way to conduct the fundraiser.”
