Prosecutors have launched video of the police interrogation of Parkland college capturing suspect Nikolas Cruz by which he claims a demonic voice in his head urged him to do violence.
The video launch Wednesday comes after authorities beforehand made public a transcript of the interview carried out hours after the Feb. 14 capturing that killed 17 individuals at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Excessive College. Each have been edited to take away Cruz’s direct confession to the crime.
The hours of video present Cruz and Broward Sheriff’s Detective John Curcio in a police interrogation room, with the digicam angle from above. Cruz, wearing hospital clothes and never handcuffed, initially speaks so softly Curcio repeatedly urges him to speak louder.
A lot of their dialog targeted on what the 19-year-old Cruz insisted was a voice that advised him issues like “burn, kill, destroy.” Cruz additionally mutters “kill me” when Curcio is out of the room.
Cruz faces the loss of life penalty if convicted.
