PAUL GASCOIGNE has vowed to return after injuring his Achilles playing for a Tottenham Legends team last month.
The England legend, 51, shared an image of his bandaged foot with the caption: “Hey guys ha won’t be long I’ll be back on my feet 😘😘😘❤️💙x”
But fans were more concerned with the state of his big TOE.
One said: “To think, the nations hopes and dreams used to hang on that foot.”
Another said: “Gazza your a legend, but your big toe is rotten!”
While one follower wrote: “My god, they look like they’ve been embalmed.”
Some called for it to be “amputated” and several people shared hilarious GIFs and memes.
Gazza replaced Rafael van der Vaart in the second half against Inter Milan Legends.
The Geordie was given a rapturous applause but lasted just 16 minutes at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before hobbling off with an ankle injury.
He tweeted: “Wow what an emotional return but I’m so sorry ive trained 3 mths for this game and my Achilles in my ankle went horribly wrong ie swelled up I’m gutted 😢😢😢x
“But I appreciate the love from everyone involved especially the crowd ❤️💙😘x thanks so much love from GAZZA 😢👍😘xx”
His manager, Shane Whitfield, posted a clip of Gazza coming off, captioned: “So proud of you mate @Paul_Gascoigne8 2 years ago you wouldn’t of even turned up to this game just shows how far you come mentally xxxx”
