PAUL GASCOIGNE has vowed to return after injuring his Achilles playing for a Tottenham Legends team last month.

The England legend, 51, shared an image of his bandaged foot with the caption: “Hey guys ha won’t be long I’ll be back on my feet 😘😘😘❤️💙x”

The Geordie was given a rapturous applause but lasted just 16 minutes at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before hobbling off with an ankle injury.

He tweeted: “Wow what an emotional return but I’m so sorry ive trained 3 mths for this game and my Achilles in my ankle went horribly wrong ie swelled up I’m gutted 😢😢😢x

“But I appreciate the love from everyone involved especially the crowd ❤️💙😘x thanks so much love from GAZZA 😢👍😘xx”

His manager, Shane Whitfield, posted a clip of Gazza coming off, captioned: “So proud of you mate @Paul_Gascoigne8 2 years ago you wouldn’t of even turned up to this game just shows how far you come mentally xxxx”
