Pinterest on Monday designated Andrea Wishom, president at Skywalker Holdings and previous executive at Harpo Productions, to its board of directors. Her consultation comes as Pinterest deals with accusations of racial and gender discrimination.

Wishom is the lifestyle-focused social media network’s very first Black board member and 3rd female board member. She stated in a release she has an interest in CEO Ben Silbermann’s “vision of having a new type of conversation between employees and the board,” including that she’s devoted to “listening and sharing my perspective and providing guidance as Pinterest continues to make positive strides forward.”

Pinterest workers recently prepared a virtual walkout following allegations of gender discrimination and retaliation brought by previous COO Francoise Brougher. In a claim submitted Aug. 11, Brougher stated widespread discrimination and misogyny penetrates Pinterest.

In June, 2 previous Pinterest workers, both black ladies, stated they experienced racial discrimination and dealt with retaliation after raising issues about unreasonable pay in the office.
