Prince Philip’s funeral will be attended by just 30 close relatives and the public have been asked not to gather near royal residences to pay their respect to the Duke of Edinburgh in line with current lockdown restrictions.

In lieu of being able to mourn for the Queen’s late husband in a public service, people from around the UK have been sharing memories and messages of condolence for the Queen and other members of the Royal Family.

Another way to pay your respects to the late Duke is to sign the official online book of condolence.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry have released moving tributes to their grandfather, with William praising his ‘extraordinary’ grandfather and acknowledging ‘the kindness he showed’ his wife Kate Middleton when she joined the family.

Prince Harry said the Duke of Edinburgh was ‘a man of service, honour and great humour,’ adding that ‘he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ‘til the end.’

Both Princes will be present at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral on Saturday along with the Queen and Philip’s children and other grandchildren such as Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara Tindall, and Peter Philips.
