Princess Diana‘s tradition continues to survive on.
A never-before-seen picture of the late Princess Of Wales is now on display screen at a brand-new exhibit, entitled “Life Through a Royal Lens,” at London’s KensingtonPalace The basic yet sophisticated, black-and-white image– exposed to the general public on March 4– reveals a then approximately 27- year-old Diana looking stoically into the range, using a satin off-the-shoulder dress and a set of teardrop earrings.
The picture was taken in 1988 by David Bailey who notoriously photographed a variety of pop cultural icons consisting of Andy Warhol, Twiggy and The Beatles The style professional photographer was supposedly hand picked by Diana– who died in 1997– for his high-contrast lighting and minimalist design.
According to a press release from Historic Royal Palaces, Diana’s choice to deal with David “reflected her desire to establish a new photographic identity for herself,” a plain contrast from the more recognized types of royal portraitures of the past.
