    A representative for the club stated it was examining the occurrence. 

    Mr Konten, on a 25-mile cycle from Cardiff when he stopped at the club with Dale Miller and Chris Harper, continued: ‘I notified him (the team member) he was being racist and discriminating us for no other factor besides our race and ethnic background. He dismissed that claim.

    ‘I informed him: “You subconsciously made the decision not to allow us to come into the pub”.

    ‘I once again asked him why he had actually not provided us another seat and informed him he was showing prejudicial characteristics for no other factor besides the method we looked.

    ‘He then began backtracking by saying it was nothing personal. I informed him that it was personal and that this is was the exact reason why Black Lives Matter exists.’

    He continued: ‘We were all worn biking equipment and presented no risk.

    ‘This is the specific systemic bigotry that requires to be eliminated from all sectors – be it education, health, market or the hospitality and catering market.

    ‘Not only have they taken our self-respect, they’ve taken our self-respect too.

    ‘Nobody should ever have to feel that way.’

    A spokesperson for owners Vintage Inns stated: ‘We take all claims of discrimination really seriously and do not endure any sort of abuse occurring within our club.

    ‘We re-opened this weekend for the very first time because lockdown and are running under brand-new Covid-protected procedures, that include minimized numbers permitted to sit at tables to assist our visitors and group social range within the club.
