Steve Mullen guides you through Monday’s racing from Newton Abbot, Ayr, Windsor and Wolverhampton
FORTITUDE has few miles on the clock so looks open to plenty of improvement. She didn’t get the run of the race when sixth at Kempton last time with her best form coming on soft ground.
There should be no problem with the 6f trip and she looks on a fair mark.
CITY GUEST should find this easier after meeting traffic problems at Ascot last time out. That was in a handicap and this maiden should be more up his street.
The trip will be no problem and soft ground suited when he was third at Brighton last month.

GLORIOUS FOREVER has been knocking on the door this season, with solid runs at Sandown and Ayr on his past two outings.
He sees out this distance well and has coped nicely enough with soft ground before.
AL BARG did well to finish second on his debut at Haydock last time out. He was understandably green in the early stages and finished the race well.
That is a good base to build on and he wouldn’t have to improve much to get off the mark here.
CAPTAIN FELIX is better known as a hurdler these days but came back to the Flat with a nice third here last time out.
He was less than two lengths off the pace there on ground that might have been a bit firm for him. He goes off the same mark today with the step up in distance looking a wise move.
LYRIC HARMONY is the only one in the field who has shown a liking for soft ground. He was out of sorts on a much faster surface at Newmarket last time after earlier winning in testing conditions at Thirsk.
This trip suits and the handicapper has dropped him a little, which can only help.
