Steve Mullen guides you through Monday’s racing from Brighton, Kempton, Towcester, Wetherby and Windsor.
GOLDEN EASTER showed lots of promise last season for Kevin Ryan, going well in all of her three maidens. She has moved to Robert Cowell over the winter and this looks a good chance to get off the mark. Her best effort last term came over this trip when beaten on the nod at Nottingham.
BROUGHTONS FANCY does most of her racing on the all-weather but she has winning form on turf too and can bag another win here. She had a successful spring with a win at Wolverhampton over this trip and she was second on her comeback run there last time out.

ONE BIG SURPRISE left the cheekpieces off here last time and it was the making of her, with a battling win. The handicapper has been fair with a 4lb rise in the weights and this extra furlong won’t be a problem.
DIAMOND BEAR has been off since winning over course and distance in October. That was a big step forward on her previous efforts with this trip bringing out the best in her. Provided she’s fully wound up another big run is on the cards.
PEARLY PRINCE has looked in need of his two runs this season since coming back from a long break. Despite that, he hasn’t been far off the pace either time with this longer trip looking ideal. The cheekpieces are on today and that could make all the difference.
VARUN’S BRIDE looks the best of a pretty modest bunch. She shaped well at Kempton last time, finishing a close fourth after seven months off the track. Richard Hannon’s horses are going well and she should figure.
SANDFRANKSKIPSGO was a solid second here last time out at a venue that clearly suits him. The handicapper has kindly taken 1lb off his back, which can only help, and this distance is ideal too.
