WAY OF WISDOM was a game winner on debut at Newmarket last time and this race looks an easier assignment than that. That was over 5f and this extra furlong should bring improvement looking at his breeding.
URBAN SPIRIT was a little keen on his comeback from six months off at Catterick last time out. He was right there until his lack of a recent run really took its toll in the closing stages. He’s had a little help from the handicapper and should be spot on fitness-wise.

GOLCONDA PRINCE showed lots of promise on his first run of the season at Redcar last time. He’s been gelded over the winter and should come on a lot for that comeback. He finished third over the mile trip there and this longer distance should suit.
MISS VAN GOGH has come down the weights a little and is now 2lb lower than when finishing a close-up fourth in a hot handicap at Ayr in September. She has gone well here in the past and won’t mind if there’s a bit more cut in the ground come off time.
SAVANNAH SLEW looked more than a little rusty when midfield at Nottingham last time but that was fair enough after a long break. She finished last season with some excellent efforts including wins at Thirsk and Yarmouth. The trip suits and she should go well at a fair price.
LAMLOOM was a close-up second here last time with a long way back to the third horse. That was over a mile and she wasn’t stopping so this trip should be fine. Likely favourite Materialist was beaten at long odds-on last time and he can lower his colours again.
PEARL NOIR went close at Thirsk last time in a similar race to this and a 1lb rise in the weights shouldn’t be a problem. He is best over this trip and won this contest 12 months ago off 5lb higher than today.
