DUKE OF FIRENZE won this 12 months ago and has chances of following up despite climbing the weights.
He looked in need of his comeback at Newbury and would have finished a lot closer at Chester last time with a clear run. He won’t mind the soft ground and we know this trip and track suit.
SO MI DAR flourished last season and could improve again as a four-year-old. She finished the campaign with an excellent close third in the Prix De L’Opera at Chantilly when the ground was too quick for her.
She won the Musidora here and relishes a bit of cut underfoot. Only the lack of a recent run is a concern.

CRACKSMAN overcame his obvious greenness to win the Derby Trial at Epsom last time in a bobbing finish.
He battled well to score there and deserves to go back for the big one. We’ll find out today if this son of Frankel is good enough.
We just need to forgive MURAD KHAN one bad run at the end of last season because he had looked highly progressive before that.
He relished the testing ground when winning at Thirsk in September and this trip would seem to be his best. The handicapper doesn’t look to have grabbed hold of him just yet either.
BRIAN THE SNAIL takes a hike in class here but it shouldn’t be a problem judged by how easily he scored in a Pontefract handicap last time out.
That was over 6f but this minimum trip on softish ground will take plenty of getting up the Knavesmire.
MASAR comes from the Charlie Appleby yard that has been having plenty of success with its juveniles this season.
He will clearly need further than this in time on breeding but should be fine with 6f at this stage of his career.
PARLIAMENTARIAN has always looked like a stayer in the making and gets his first chance at a proper marathon trip here.
He held his own in good handicaps over 1m6f as a three-year-old but should be a different proposition this season.
