German police say searchers have discovered what they consider to be the physique of a Canadian man who has been lacking within the Bavarian Alps since Aug. 2.
Bavarian police stated the stays have been discovered Saturday by a fellow Canadian, a police climber and pal of the person’s household who had joined the search. They have been in a wooded space close to the Brauneck mountain south of Munich, together with a backpack containing the lacking man’s passport. The physique was recovered with the assistance of a helicopter.
Police stated Sunday there was no proof of foul play. They consider the person, whom they didn’t identify, suffered a deadly fall of 60-100 metres (197-328 ft) whereas mountaineering.
They are saying forensic exams will probably be carried out in Munich to verify the person’s identification.
Brandon man Jeff Freiheit disappeared whereas mountaineering throughout the Alps in early August, and was final heard from on August 1. European police have been trying to find him since.
