The legal beefing between Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna isn’t over: It’s just been inflamed with a new lawsuit in which Kardashian and sister Kylie Jenner accuse Chyna of assault, battery and extortion.
The siblings filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday accusing Chyna (real name Angela White) of being a “ruthless” and drunken “money-hungry, shameless pseudo-celebrity” who beat him up regularly and became pregnant with their 10-month-old baby, Dream, as a means to “extort” his mega-rich family of reality-TV stars.
The lawsuit is the latest clash in the legal jousting between Kardashian and Chyna this year, following her accusations of domestic abuse and a just-settled custody dispute over Dream.
Kardashian and his sister, who owns the house where “physical altercations” between Kardashian and Chyna allegedly took place, state their dramatic accusations on the second page of their suit.
“Rob and Kylie are compelled to seek legal recourse against Chyna for enduring several months of injuries in Chyna’s deliberate attempt to extort the Kardashian family for her own monetary gains,” the lawsuit says. “Chyna’s desire to pursue a relationship and have a baby with Rob was nothing short of an outright fraud to shake down the Kardashian family without any concern of the consequences.”
The suit charges Chyna with assault and battery causing physical injuries. It says Chyna caused at least $US100,000 ($127,000) in physical damages to the home that Jenner owns. And the siblings want the court to declare that the “talent agreement” between Chyna and the E! Network over their now-canceled Rob & Chyna reality show is kaput.
They are seeking unspecified general and punitive damages.
But the lawsuit seems to be more focused on detailing Chyna’s alleged deplorable behaviour towards Rob, his siblings and his mother since the two met in late 2015, became engaged, went on TV briefly, had a baby and then parted in a flurry of salacious and toxic headlines, claims and counterclaims.
Under the bland language of a legal document, Jenner and Kardashian paint Chyna as an erratic, frequently intoxicated, angry shrew with a pugilistic approach to life and her ex-fiance’s family.
“Early in Chyna’s relationship with Rob and over the course of 2016, Chyna exhibited reckless and threatening behavior towards Rob and his family, especially to Rob’s sister Kylie (whose boyfriend at the time, rapper Tyga, shared a son with Chyna),” the lawsuit says.
“Chyna would threaten to beat up Rob’s sisters and was disrespectful towards Rob’s mother Kris Jenner at the beginning of their relationship….Chyna would often times berate people she did not even know….Chyna also bullied Kylie in 2016 on Chyna’s various social media accounts and publicly humiliated Kylie by making demeaning comments about Kylie and Tyga’s relationship… Chyna terrorised Kylie by telling her to take tests for sexually transmitted diseases…”
There’s more of this sort of thing, culminating in the alleged assault and battery by Chyna against Rob in December 2015 at the home owned by Jenner where they were living.
“Because Chyna committed the above-described acts in a despicable, deliberate and intentional manner, Rob is entitled to recover punitive damages from Chyna in addition to compensatory damages,” the suit says.
Chyna’s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, said she would not comment and that she had not yet been served with the lawsuit.
Two weeks ago, it looked like an uneasy and partial ceasefire had been reached in the war between Kardashian and Chyna. They had settled their custody dispute and her allegations of domestic abuse had been taken off the court calendar, for now.
Kardashian, 30, agreed to continue to stay away from Chyna, 29, and not contact her.
“She will always have the right to go back into court if further incidents of domestic abuse occur,” Bloom warned at the time. “This agreement does not resolve all disputes between Chyna and Rob.”
Sniping-by-leak-and-or-press release has been going on for months between Kardashian and Chyna.
But it reached a repulsive level in July when he attacked her on Instagram and Twitter by posting pictures of her naked, accusing her in profane terms of sleeping with another man in “the same bed Chyna and I made our baby in”.
Even though he took down some of the pictures, it made him vulnerable to charges of revenge porn, which is a crime in California. Soon, Chyna and Bloom were in court seeking, and receiving, a temporary restraining order over the social media posts and claims that Kardashian had beaten her.
That case had been put on hold, at least for now.
