FORMER world boxing champ Roy Jones Jr has introduced his intention to retire in a cross-code MMA and boxing bout at Island Fights 46.
Jones, who flip 49 subsequent month, will headline the occasion, which takes place on February eight in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
The six-time boxing champ has taken to social media to announce that he will hang up his gloves after a final cruiserweight fight.
Speaking on Facebook, he said: “It’s my last one for the bayfront … Civic Center, Pensacola, Bayfront Arena, whatever you want to call it.
“So if you want to come to see my last day in Pensacola, be there February 8. That’s my last one there.
The American boxer has won 10 of his last 11 bouts including two Island Fights main event bouts in the past three years.

Jone, who won a silver medal at the 1988 Olympic games in South Korea, has an impressive 65-9 record from fight which have taken place after he turned 35.
Island Fights founder Dan Toole has revealed he is excited to host Jones’ last fight.
He told the Pensacola News Journal: “Words can’t even express how I feel about having Roy on this card.
“This is amazing, incredible. I am so excited he is going to do his last fight in Pensacola on Island Fights 46.
“The phone calls, the text messages, our social media, Roy’s social media are going crazy. I have never been contacted this much for a fight in the history of us doing this.”
