A sculpture made from 100,000 blades went on show within the English metropolis of Liverpool on Thursday, paying tribute to these whose lives have been affected by knife crime.
The 27-foot-high ‘Knife Angel’ is made up of 100,000 blades confiscated and surrendered to police forces throughout the nation to spotlight the difficulty of knife crime within the UK.
The Angel, designed by Alfie Bradley, took over a 12 months to construct and was created as a Nationwide monument towards violence and aggression on the British Ironworks Centre.
Bradley mentioned that the Angel was constructed with a spread kinds of knives.
“I’ve had all types – machetes, meat cleavers, swords, even regular kitchen knives, which is de facto unhappy as a result of typically it’s simply regular kitchen knives taken from a kitchen, simply from a younger child half the time,” he mentioned. “They don’t actually know what they’re doing. Only for self defence.”
