Summer is here and the celebration is simply beginning.
The 2021 BET Awards warmed up our Sunday night as your preferred artists came together to commemorate the “Year of the Black Woman” by honoring their tremendous influence on culture.
Broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, this year’s award program was hosted by Taraji P. Henson and included a star-studded group of efficiencies. From Andra Day and H.E.R. to D.J. Khaled and Tyler the Creator, music’s most significant names required to the phase with memorable efficiencies. And yes, even Cardi B revealed she was pregnant throughout her time on phase.
And while unique efficiencies are cool, this year’s program likewise honored DMX with a thoughtful homage curated by manufacturer and long time pal Swizz Beatz.
Some artists likewise won really unique prizes. Dominating this year’s elections were Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby with an overall of 7 elections each. Queen Latifah likewise got this year’s Lifetime Achievement BET Award.
