In a sneak peek video shared on March 16, Kelly Ripa revealed a striking impersonation of tv character Tammy Faye Bakker, who was most just recently played by Jessica Chastain in the motion picture The Eyes of Tammy Faye
The video, which worked as a teaser for Live with Kelly and Ryan’s After Oscar Show, revealed Kelly in an red curly wig with Tammy’s infamous phony lashes, eye makeup and greatly lined lips. Kelly rocked 2 clothing throughout the clip: a sequin t-shirt with a headband and a cheetah print leading completely fitted to the character’s preference.
Kelly starts by belting, “Jesus keeps taking me higher and higher,” prior to the scene cuts to her face for a close up.
An off-camera voice asks if Kelly desires some cleaner for her makeup, to which she responds, “Oh, no.”
“That’s it. I mean, they’re permanently lined, and my eyes are permanently lined and my eyebrows are permanently on, so there’s not a whole lot you can do. This is who I am,” Kelly stated with a chuckle, estimating a line from The Eyes of Tammy Faye
