Selena Gomez will not conceal her kidney transplant scar any longer.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, Selena—who got a kidney transplant from buddy and Grown-ish starlet Francia Raisa in 2017 following issues from lupus—shared a psychological message to Instagram in addition to a swimsuit image that displayed her scar.
“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar,” Selena composed. “I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that.”
The starlet included that she took pride in swimsuit business La’Mariette, whose match she is using in the image, for their underlying message that “all bodies are beautiful.”
While Selena’s scar was seen in paparazzi pictures in 2018, this is the very first time that the “Lose You To Love Me” vocalist has actually exposed her scar on social networks.
Selena formerly celebrated her life-saving surgical treatment in another method: In January of 2020, she discussed getting a tattoo of the date of her surgical treatment in an interview with Capitol FM radio in the U.K.
