Tennis legend posted image with caption ’20 weeks’ before deleting it… but news got out and her publicist confirmed news later
SERENA WILLIAMS has revealed she announced her pregnancy by ACCIDENT after mistakenly uploading Snapchat pictures.
The American tennis legend posted the image with the caption “20 weeks” before deleting it – but the news got out and her publicist confirmed it later.
Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam victor, says she took the snaps for herself to track the pregnancy every week.
She said: “I was just saving them [for myself]. I’ve been so good about it, but this was the one time it slipped.”
The baby’s father is tech entrepreneur and best-selling US author Alexis Ohanian, the founder of social news site Reddit – who became engaged to Williams in December.
But the world number one, who will give birth in the autumn, also confessed she discovered her pregnancy just TWO days before winning the Australian Open in January where she beat her sister Venus in the final.

She added: “It wasn’t very easy. You hear all these stories about people when they’re pregnant – they get sick, they get really tired, really stressed out.
“I had to really take all that energy and put it in a paper bag, so to say, and throw it away.
“Pregnant or not, no-one knew and I was supposed to win that tournament. Every time I play, I’m expected to win. If I don’t win, it’s actually much bigger news.”
Williams will be on materinity leave for the rest of 2017, missing Wimbledon – but says she will be back as a mum on tour next year.
She said: “I definitely plan on coming back. I’m not done yet.
“If [Venus] still playing, I know I can play. This [motherhood] is just a new part of my life. My baby’s going to be in the stands and hopefully cheering for me.”
