An explosion occurred in a city east of the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, on Thursday however there have been no casualties, a police spokesman stated.

Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera stated police have been investigating the blast on empty land behind the Justice of the Peace’s courtroom in Pugoda.

“There was an explosion behind the courtroom, we’re investigating,” he stated, including it was not a managed explosion like different blasts in current days.

The blast got here at a time of excessive stress in Sri Lanka following the Easter Sunday suicide bomber assaults on the island state that killed 359 folks and wounded about 500.
