Steve Mullen’s top tips for the racing at Perth and Stratford on Sunday, July 14

WHAT WILL BE (2.25 Stratford)

He showed lots of promise on his hurdling debut for Olly Murphy when second at Market Rasen last time out.

He was beaten less than two lengths there and was closing all the way to the line. Richard Johnson is in the saddle today and it wouldn’t take much improvement to get off the mark.

KAHDIAN (3.00 Stratford)

Richard Johnson and Olly Murphy team up again with this consistent chaser who has really got his act together lately. He has had just two runs for the yard and went close each time, including at Southwell last time.

This slight step up in distance should help and he’ll be right there again.

It could be a good day for Olly Murphy as he has another massive chance with this four-year-old. He landed a couple of seconds at Fakenham before a solid third at Southwell last time.

He gives the impression that he’s still learning at this game and comes here with a live chance.

THINK AHEAD (5.35 Perth)

James Moffatt usually places his horses well and has found a decent opening in this conditional jockeys’ contest.

He went close at Cartmel before improving on that when defeated three lengths at Hexham last time out. He gets on well with today’s rider who takes 8lb off.

RASASEE (5.55 Stratford)

Connor Brace steered this improving six-year-old to victory in a stronger race than this at Worcester last time and stays on board today.

He has a 7lb penalty for that convincing success but that shouldn’t stop him following up.
