A five-night stay at the Vdara boutique hotel together with money for travel and expenses – all taking place against the backdrop of the gaming capital of the world.

And it didn’t cost him a penny. Ky battled through hundreds of players who took part in the two-day free-to-enter event organised by The Sun Online and

Now he has his chance of playing for the multi-million pound top prize which as an 888poker qualifier entitles him to the SuperSizeME promotion which would guarantee him $10million and the coveted WSOP bracelet for winning the Main Event.

“I can’t believe I am here,” says. Ky. It’s a terrific feeling. There is such an amazing buzz around the place.”

“I am learning from the best,” says Ky, as he was given poker tips from Chris and Will.

Chris, 31, from Basildon, who has also won $5.1million playing live events won his first World Series of Poker Bracelet and $498,682 last month. He took first place in the $3,000 six-handed tournament against a field of 959 players.

But even that number is dwarfed by the 6,000-plus number of entries expected for this year’s Main Event.

Chris, 888poker’s only British Ambassador, advised: “Ky has a fantastic opportunity. The tournament hasn’t cost him a penny, so he can just go out and enjoy himself. It will certainly be the experience of a lifetime. The main thing for him is to relax and enjoy himself. With a little bit of lady luck anything can happen.

Lawyer turned poker player, Will Kassouf, 35, from Rickmansworth, says: “Ky just needs to believe in himself. He can take the opportunity to settle in to the tournament. He doesn’t need to rush. He is only playing those sitting at his table. He dosen’t need to feel daunted that he is playing in the biggest field of players he will ever face.

“It’s great if he can win chips early to add to to his 50,000 starting stack. But he doesn’t have to worry if he loses a few hands in the beginning. It’s what happened to me last year and look how I bounced back.”

Ky, who lives near Bicester, Oxfordshire, is itching to get playing. I usually play my poker in the pub with my mates on a Friday evening. Now 888poker are giving recreational players like myself the opportunity to play in the world’s best tournaments that once upon a time we could only dream about.

I brought out my own T-bags so I can have a good cuppa before I play. I’m loving every minute of my stay in Vegas. I’ m walking round with the biggest smile from ear to ear. But when the cards are shuffled for the first time, I am to have to give it 100 per cent concentration with my best poker face.”
