With the long weekend upon us, there aren’t many warehouse sales. But the good news is there’s still loads of new season collections and mid-season online sales to replenish your wardrobe for warmer days ahead. We have curated a list of dates, but be sure check back in with you favourite designers as they are likely to be offering discounts this weekend.
Sales Guide and pop-up
She’s already revved up NYFW with one of the most anticipated shows of the season, won the Met Gala red carpet, launched her own beauty range, and became one of the highest selling activewear brands globally, but in true Rihanna fashion, she’s taking things up a notch with the launch of a Fenty x Puma pop-up store making its way to Australia this week.
Her AW 17 collection will come to life in an immersive American college and dormitory style space at the Foot Locker George Street flagship store. Think preppy hues as the dominating accent on flatform “creepers”, sneaker heels, exaggerated varsity jackets, snap trackies and caps. The three-day pop-up is set to feature DJs and giveaways alongside the collection. If you can’t make it down to the pop-up, don’t fret, the likes of JD Sports, Stylerunner, Peppermayo and PUMA will all stock the collection.
“I wanted the entire collection to be very diverse. I wanted different silhouettes, I wanted small silhouettes, I wanted huge silhouettes, I wanted colour, stripes, plaid. I wanted to play around, and I felt like a back-to-school theme was the best way to do that,” said Rihanna in a statement. Her spring/summer NYFW collection will arrive in stores next year.

Need to update your activewear collection? Australian site Stylerunner is holding a mid-season markdown sale with up to 50 per cent off clothing, shoes and accessories. With six stores in the Sydney region, international beauty brand Sephora last week expanded their successful brick-and-mortar presence into the Eastern Suburbs with the opening of their Bondi Junction Westfield store. Beyond their usual cult and exclusive brands, the new store has a greater focus on niche, luxe and natural local and international offerings including their latest recruits, Tom Ford, alongside cult brands such as Ouai, The Beauty Chef, Edible Beauty and Miranda Kerr’s Kora.

It’s no secret that Australian athleisure label The Upside has taken on cult status in recent years, and their latest Casa Azul collection is sure to be a success. Taking reference from Mexico, the women and men’s collection’s pieces were inspired by Frida Khalo, blending vibrant and traditional Mexican fashion prints with function and form
“For High Summer we were inspired by Frida, not only her incredible use of colour but also her ballsy spirit. We loved the idea of our UPSIDE girls working out and going about their day with a bit of that Kahlo fire and soul,” said the company’s creative director Jodhi Meares.
As well as the bold hues, the collection offers variations of classic black leggings, waterproof anorakd, high-waisted bikinis, paddle suits, crops doubling as swim tops, relaxed kimono cover upd, oversized cotton jersey hoodies and the usual activewear silhouettes with prints including muted palm fronds, florals, intricate tiling and indigo bandanna patterns.

As part of their spring summer collection Australian label Sambag is launching their first diffusion collection for their younger shoppers, India Grace. After celebrating 20 years in the business, the first collaboration between Sam Wagner and her youngest daughter India, will introduce quirky and functional summer sandals blended with the timeless elegance the brand is renowned for. India played an integral part in the collection process by selecting styles, prints and textures, including avant-garde cut-outs, shimmering metallics, fun tassels and a kaleidoscope of colours.
“I’ve always wanted to design a label for my younger customer—something which is affordable, fun, on-trend, and undoubtedly stylish,” said owner and creative director, Sam Wagner.
“I love the idea of mothers and daughters shopping together—something I enjoy with both of my daughters—and now, by introducing the India Grace collection, I hope my customers will also share this experience at Sambag.”
