Conor McGregor was on welfare before becoming a millionaire
He is set to make around £75million from his boxing fight against Mayweather, which couldn’t be further from where McGregor started out.

Just five years ago The Notorious was collecting £173 a week on welfare in Dublin.
He was brought up in the working-class community of Crumlin, and life was never going to be easy.
But now, already set for life after reaping the rewards of a successful UFC career, things are going to reach a whole new level for McGregor.
In recognition of the life he left behind, McGregor named one of his yachts “188” – the amount in euros that he used to receive in benefits.

The Notorious could have been fixing your toilet
Conor McGregor was undergoing a plumbing apprenticeship before he met future UFC fighter Tom Egan and the duo started training together.
But he was only fighting at weekends, and the week was spent studying and getting out and about learning the tricks of the plumbing trade.
Something clicked in McGregor’s head, and he realised the fighting game was more likely to prove successful.
He made his way through the MMA circuit in Ireland, winning, and was spotted by UFC and Dana White.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Conor McGregor used to get BULLIED
You might not believe this, but the UFC sensation-turned-boxer used to get bullied as a child and teenager.
That might explain why he took up mixed martial arts.
He has said that he was much smaller and slight of frame compared to other boys on the estate.
Speaking about this previously, McGregor said: “I had a face which bullies liked beating up”.
He has used his experiences to help youngsters seek help and speak out if they are being bullied, and has been a speaker against bullying in schools and community centres.
The Irish UFC legend is a vocal supporter of gay rights
Conor McGregor has gone on record saying he and his team believes every human deserves equal rights. He is also a vocal supporter of gay rights in Ireland, something that continues to divide the country today.
The Notorious is also a firm believer in same-sex marriage, which was only passed as law in Ireland in 2015.
Conor McGregor has an obsession with ‘The Secret’
It’s quite plain to see Conor McGregor has reached the top with the help of a steely determination to be the best in the business.
And he puts a lot of it down to reading Rhonda Byrne’s book “The Secret”, which was published in 2006.
It goes through various self-help tips, and gives advice on how to take on life with positive thinking.
Conor McGregor started off small – hoping he and partner Dee Devlin would get a better car parking space.
He then aimed higher, hoping to make it in UFC. And you could say he’s probably done that.
Floyd Mayweather competed in US TV show Dancing With The Stars
His footwork has seen him get out of trouble in most of his boxing fights to date.
But in 2007, Mayweather was relying on his feet a whole lot more as he competed in ABC’s hit show Dancing With The Stars.
Paired with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, Mayweather might have been an early favourite.
But in the fourth show, his Paso Doble failed to impress the judges and he was given the boot.
Floyd Mayweather isn’t his real name
Floyd “Money” Mayweather has a nice ring to it, but the nickname wouldn’t really go with his REAL name.
The supreme boxer was actually born Floyd Joy Sinclair, but demonstrating the closeness with his father, Floyd Mayweather Snr, he took on that name.
He attributes much of his success to his father, who brought him up from less salubrious surroundings of sharing a bedroom with four of his siblings in Michigan.
‘The Money’ had the hardest of childhoods
Mayweather was born with his mother’s name, but changed it to his father’s.
His mum was addicted to drugs, and he described how his father was “a hustler”.
He has previously said: “I was the man in the house from 16. That’s just the way it was.”
Floyd has said that at Christmas his mother “used to go out and steal presents”. She is now back in his life, which has caused it’s own problems with his father.
“Right now I’m close to my mother and I can see the jealousy in my father,” Mayweather previously told boxing expert Steve Bunce.
“He’s jealous that I have a relationship again with her.”

Floyd Mayweather broke WWE star Big Show’s nose
A move to the wrestling ring might be another option for Floyd Mayweather if he wants to further his sporting prowess.
And he has already starred in WWE – with devastating consequences for his opponent.
Mayweather was in the crowd for the 2008 show No Way Out when he jumped over the barrier and attacked the Big Show, real name Paul Wight.
He ended up breaking The Big Show’s nose, when the 7ft monster offered the boxer a free shot.
The pair then fought at Wrestlemania XXIV in a no disqualification match – and Mayweather won!
His team helped him, and it finished with Mayweather putting on a pair of brass knuckles and KO’ing Show.
Mayweather has different coloured cars for different houses
When you’ve got so much money, you can afford to live life to the extreme.
And that’s exactly what Mayweather does.
He has a hugely expensive watch collection – with one timepiece to cost close to £1m.
But did you know that he has a white-only fleet of cars at his Miami house and an all-red fleet at his Las Vegas house?
He also wears new shoes once before leaving them for hotel staff, and also only wears boxer shorts once before throwing them out.
And he is so worried about extra weight in his private jet that he makes his bodyguards fly on a different plane.
