Bellew was being interviewed for his thoughts on the Joshua-Klitschko fight when Wilder and his large entourage interrupted him.

The world cruiserweight champion responded in fury and shouted: “I don’t need no f****** squad. I ain’t no boy, I’m a grown-a*** man.

“I’ve dealt with the most dangerous heavyweight in the world already, I don’t need to fear no-one.”

Wilder hit back: “You haven’t dealt with this power though.”

Bellew said: “I’ve dealt with someone more powerful than you.”

Wilder: “On my mother, on my kids, you haven’t dealt with this power.”

Bellew: On my kids, he’s more powerful than you – David’s more powerful than you.”

Wilder: “You know what separates me from all the heavyweights? How I knock a motherf***** out.

“Not only have I broke sockets, not only have I broke bones, but I have made them seize on the ground.”

Bellew: “I don’t care what the hell you’ve done, you’re just a man with two arms, two legs – my boxing brain is far better than yours.”

The spat will no doubt increase the clamour for the duo to test their claims by getting it on in a big fight later this year.

Bellew is now looking to see whether he can carve out a career in the heavyweight division following his win over Haye at the O2 in March.

And Wilder is looking to make himself the only genuine rival to Joshua or Klitschko as the best heavyweight on the planet.

The Joshua-Klitschko fight has grabbed the imagination of the boxing world with the IBF, IBO and WBA belts all up for grabs.

And Bellew has revealed how away from the cameras the mutual respect between the fighters has given way to need – with Joshua promising to hurt his Ukrainian rival.
