A commuter practice travelling at excessive velocity struck a crowd of individuals seated on tracks in northern India on Friday and not less than 50 had been feared killed, Punjab state police and witnesses stated.
“The folks had been sitting on and close to the tracks on the outskirts of Amritsar watching the burning of effigies as a part of the Dussehra pageant when a commuter practice ran over them,” a police officer informed Reuters.
