Russia’s home safety company says it has arrested a U.S. citizen on espionage prices.
The Federal Safety Service, or FSB, the highest KGB successor company, stated that the American man detained in Moscow on Friday. The company stated in Monday’s assertion that he was caught “throughout an espionage operation,” however didn’t give any particulars.
The state Tass information company recognized the detained man as Paul Whelan. Spying prices carry a jail sentence of as much as 20 years in Russia.
The U.S. Embassy in Moscow had no rapid remark.
