Venezuelan state-run oil firm PDVSA is taking steps to take away at the least two American executives from the board of administrators at its U.S. subsidiary, Citgo Petroleum Corp, based on folks near the matter.

Efforts to reshuffle the Citgo board come as Venezuelan opposition chief and self-proclaimed president Juan Guaido plans to nominate his personal board on the nation’s high overseas asset and use its revenues to finance the elimination of President Nicolas Maduro.
