The artifacts provide an enchanting glimpse into the lifetime of the controversial couple. The king abdicated the British throne in 1936 in an effort to marry Simpson, an American divorcee. The couple subsequently grew to become the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

The objects have been initially bought at a Sotheby’s public sale titled “Jewels of the Duchess of Windsor” in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1987, the 12 months after Simpson’s loss of life.
