All the latest information ahead of the Twickenham clash for the Aviva Premiership trophy
WASPS take on Exeter Chiefs for the Aviva Premiership title at Twickenham.
The now-Coventry-based side are looking to write their name on the famous trophy for the first time since 2008 while Exeter are looking for their first ever title triumph.
Here is everything you need to know ahead of the Aviva Premiership final.
When is the Aviva Premiership final and what TV channel is it on?
The Aviva Premiership final will take place on Saturday, May 28, at 2.30pm at Twickenham.
BT Sport hold the rights to all Premiership coverage.
The match between Wasps and Exeter will be shown live on BT Sport 1 from 1.30pm.
Can I still get tickets?
Tickets are available on Ticketmaster from £54-£70, and £140 for official platinum seating.
Both teams have been allocated 7,500 tickets for the match, priced from £50-85 and supporters of the clubs will be able to purchase by logging into TicketHour.
Tickets for Exeter supporters are on general sale while Wasps tickets will go on sale to the public tomorrow (Tuesday, May 23).
How did Wasps get to the final?
Along with Saracens, Wasps were among the big favourites for the title at the start of the season, and they lived up to that tag by finishing the Premiership season top of the league.
But they made hard work of beating Leicester Tigers in their play-off semi-final, needing a 78th-minute try from Josh Bassett to progress with a 21-20 win at the Ricoh Arena.
The star-studded side will now look to pick up their first piece of silverware since their controversial move to Coventry from Wycombe.
There will also be the scent of revenge in their air for Wasps, as Exeter knocked them out of last season’s semi-final with a 34-23 win at Sandy Park.
How did Exeter Chiefs get to the final?
Last season’s runners-up, Exeter’s semi-final was no less dramatic than that of Wasps as they overcame European champs Saracens at Sandy Park.
Facing the team that beat them in the 2016 final at Twickenham, Exeter were 16-13 down and stranded in their own half with a minute to play.
But having earned a scrum penalty, Henry Slade booted the ball the length of the pitch to earn a line-out on the Saracens’ five-metre line.
Sam Simmonds then dramatically powered over to send the chiefs to Twickenham to the delight of the home crown.
The Bank Holiday weekend should now see a pilgrimage from Devon to London, with Exeter City Football Club playing in the League Two play-off final at Wembley after the Aviva Premiership final.
