CONOR McGREGOR has likened his left hand to the hammer of Norse god Thor after brutally dropping a sparring partner in training.

The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion announced his retirement from UFC in March to concentrate on a “new venture”.

But the 30-year-old is still continuing his MMA training, and clearly still has that power in his fists.

McGregor has released a short video of him dropping his sparring partner as he teased a sensational return to UFC.

He captioned it: “Looking forward to getting back out to Mjolnir again soon,” seemingly comparing his straight left power punch to that of Thor’s famous Mjolnir hammer.

He added: “It has been too long.

“Check out the new mega facility and get some quality work in with my Viking brothers.”

He also posted a training pic on to Instagram, captioning it: “Made man, not made for defeat.”

WHITE WANTS RETURN

The Notorious hasn’t fought since losing to Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov by submission at UFC 229 in October.

McGregor tapped out after being put into a neck crank.

Both men were suspended for their parts in the ugly post-fight brawl, though McGregor, 30, is now free to compete – while Nurmagomedov looks set for a September return.

Despite retiring two months ago, UFC fans are hoping the Irish fighter reverses his decision and returns to the octagon.

And UFC chief Dana White seems like he hopes so too, saying that a potential McGregor versus Donald Cerrone fight “makes sense”.

White said: “He and I are getting together very soon, within the next week, and we’re going to figure out what’s next for him, I see him fighting this summer.

“The Cerrone fight makes sense, there’s a couple different options out there for him.

“He was talking about the Cerrone fight at one point. I don’t really know but that fight makes sense.”
