Another day, another Monaco star linked with a move to the Premier League – which is more good news for all of you Fantasy Football managers out there.

Thomas Lemar – one of the heroes of Monaco’s Ligue 1 triumph last season – is near the top of Arsenal’s summer wishlist, with Arsene Wenger prepared to splash the cash for the exciting winger.

Thomas Lemar could be a tasty addition to your Dream Team

How does the game work?

  • This year’s fantasy football game will absolutely FREE for all players to play
  • The total prize pot is an approximated £750,000
  • Game Weeks will run from Friday to Thursday
  • £50m budget on 11 eligible players

Monaco’s squad remains relatively intact for the time being, with only Bernardo Silva departing the club this summer for the bright lights of Manchester City, while Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabinho and Benjamin Mendy all remain despite heavy speculation linking them elsewhere.

Lemar joins them on the back pages, with rumours linking the 21-year-old to Arsenal in one of the most enduring stories of the summer so far.

The Gunners have had a great summer so far, securing Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer and forking out the big bucks for Alexandre Lacazette.

What will Lacazette offer on Dream Team?

And it’s easy to see why Arsenal are so interested in the young Frenchman, who heavily impressed last season.

Monaco exceeded all expectations, winning the French title and reaching the Champions League semi-finals, with Lemar playing his part both domestically and in Europe by scoring 14 goals across all competitions and recording an equal amount of assists.

That’s probably why Monaco are holding out on big money for him, having already snubbed an offer of £40million from the Gunners.

What could this mean for your fantasy football team?

WhoScored, Dream Team’s ratings providers, gave Lemar a decent 7.42 rating overall last season, with his 7.48 in Ligue 1 particularly eye-catching.

That makes Lemar the fifth-highest rated played in the French top-flight last season, with teammate Fabinho slightly ahead of him in the rankings.

If you fancy some context, then that beats the likes of Lucas Moura (7.41) and Angel Di Maria (7.28) and even his teammates Mbappe (7.22) and Silva (7.29).

Lemar’s appeal for Arsenal is undoubtedly his versatility, as he’s able to play on either wings as well as through the middle.

While he’s predominantly left-footed, he’s also competent with his right-foot and is renowned for his dribbling ability and his range of passing.

He’s not bad at free-kicks, either.

Looking at the player valuations on Dream Team this season, we reckon Lemar would be valued around the same as Liverpool newboy Mohamed Salah and potential Arsenal teammate Theo Walcott (both £4.0m).
