All the latest information as the legendary Great Britain cycling team looks to maintain the momentum from the Olympics
TEAM GB are looking to maintain the momentum after topping the medal table at the Olympic Games in Rio.
But they may struggle to match the five golds in Brazil, with champs Jason Kenny and wife Laura back home expecting their first child.
Meanwhile Bradley Wiggins is retired and Mark Cavendish, who was planning to miss the tournament to focus on road racing, is now ruled out of cycling with glandular fever.
But Team GB still has a good number of gold medal hopefuls and SunSport has looked at the event in more detail.
When are the World Track Cycling Championships and where can I watch them?
The World Track Cycling Championships are being held in Hong Kong at the rather unoriginally named Hong Kong Velodrome.
The event started on Wednesday, April 12 and will finish on Sunday, April 16.
BBC Two are broadcasting each day of the championships, with coverage typically starting at 11.50am tomorrow, 12pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.
Which races are most likely to see the Brits win gold?
Elinor Barker has already won a silver medal in the women’s scratch race, with Christopher Latham winning bronze in the men’s event.
Barker will also be racing in the individual pursuit, alongside Team GB team pursuit gold medalist Katie Archibald. The event is set to take place on Saturday afternoon.
Archibald will also be going for gold in the new-look omnium on Friday, and the 500m time trial on Saturday.
The new version of the omnium will consist of four events over one day rather than six events over two days.
Callum Skinner has sat out the team sprint, in which he won gold in Rio, to race in the individual event, which will take place on Friday.
And young talents Ryan Owens and Mark Stewart will be looking for medals in the sprint and points races respectively.
