THE standard Billy Joe Saunders defends his WBO middleweight championship towards Martin Murray in an all-British world title showdown.
Unbeaten Hatfield hero Saunders (26-Zero, 12 KOs) is aiming for a fourth successive defence of the belt he gained on factors towards Andy Lee in December 2015.
Since final summer season Saunders has been educated Dominic Ingle and the pair mixed for Saunders’ vioctory over American Willie Monroe Jr.
In December the southpaw placed on a masterclass in Canada to beat hard-hitting former titlist David Lemieux.
It was his largest take a look at – and he handed with flying colors.
Murray (36-Four-1, 17 KOs) is the ultimate hurdle for Saunders in acquiring a whole home whitewash of British and Irish middleweights that already contains Lee, Chris Eubank Jr, Spike O’Sullivan, John Ryder and Nick Blackwell.

Anthony Joshua buys team bus for his first gym in nod to his humble roots
At middleweight, the St Helens man has challenged three world champions and many considered him to be unlucky in his first two efforts; the 2011 draw with Felix Sturm and the decision loss to Sergio Martinez in 2013, both on away soil.
In February 2015, Murray took on and lost to the feared Kazakh Gennady Golovkin.
Despite suffering two early knockdowns, the brave Merseysider proved his toughness and became the first man to take ‘Triple G’ past 10 rounds.
Murray’s fifth shot at world glory is likely to be his last, while Saunders is chasing down a four-weight unification with Golovkin or Canelo Alvarez.
