The two last fought in 2014, when dos Santos secured a unanimous points decision.

The 34-year-old sensationally knocked out home favourite Fabricio Werdum in front of 45,000 Brazilians in May 2016.

The unbeaten titleholder’s reign was ended when Miocic sent him crashing to the canvas with one big punch, silencing the Curitiba crowd at UFC 198.

The two UFC stars will clash at the American Airlines Center in Texas in the early hours of Sunday morning, May 14 (Saturday night, May 13 in the US).

The fight night starts at 1am, with the main card starting at 3am UK time.

The main card and pre-fights will be shown live on BT Sport 2.

The programme will start at 1am, but Miocic vs Dos Santos may not start until 3.30am at the earliest.
